Project Brief
School Project – The Bob1 Devo book cover is an extension of an artistic project utilizing typography to create an illustration of a famous person. The book cover image of Bob1 is based on the icon backside of the Freedom of Choice album. Each bank member is striking a pose and this specific image of Bob1 is immediately recognized by all Devo fans. Building on the powerful type-based illustration comprised of the band’s lyrics the reader is pulled towards the book. Furthermore, the red Energy Dome hat solidifies the messaging and is carried over into the decorative fore edge.
